Now that the regular television season is winding down and finales are fast approaching, I’d like to give a much needed update to my much-watch list—the new shows that made the cut and held my attention and the shows didn’t pass my Three Episode Test, dropped off my list, and fizzled out of my mind.

Movie night happened again. My husband was an absolute trooper. The first movie, Logan Lucky was right up his alley. The second one, Game Over, Man! wasn’t, but it was still good fun. I also lined up I Kill Giants, but when I watched the preview I knew that would send him straight upstairs. I stuck it out, though, so I’m going to review all three.

I finally had the chance to watch A Wrinkle in Time. Ava DuVernay has worked on powerful films that earned given critical acclaim, but this is the first film of hers I’ve seen. In this film, Ava has directed a beautiful story that would be visually stunning even without sound. Now I want to go back and watch her other work. Continue reading

Shows I can’t wait to watch. Like, I seriously jones for couch time with these…
The Flash (you know how I feel about my Barry)
The Good Place (last season was a breath of fresh air)
Supergirl
Scandal (I don’t want it to end)
Empire (hooked)
Star (a summer binge watch that was a welcome surprise)
This is Us (everyone needs a good soul cleansing cry)
Black-ish (hilarious)
Designated Survivor (love me some Keifer)
Power (started over the summer and I have a long way to go to catch up, but I love what I am seeing so far)
The Magicians (sex, swearing, and magic…yes)
Shows I am still watching, but losing interest
Arrow
Lucifer (Another summer binge that I will give a second look)
New shows I will give a chance
The Good Doctor
Will and Grace (kinda excited about this one)
Marvel Inhumans (haven’t even seen a preview, but you know me and super heroes)
Ghosted (love both actors)
The Gifted (I mean who doesn’t want to see it, I have seen 7,000 previews this summer)
That’s it! What would we do without DVRs? Miss out on a lot of great TV, that’s for sure! Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I mean, I don’t have much time, but I am always open to suggestions. If you notice, no reality TV listed…I am not a fan.

The Men of the Seven Chambers Series
A Novella
by D.W. Marshall
With my thumbs, I wipe the sprinkle of tears that escapes her beautiful eyes, mesmerized by how silver they look now. I can’t be sure how she feels, but that was the most honest, vulnerable, intense experience I have ever had. I bring my lips to hers. Her lips curl up into a loving smile as she kisses back.
“I love you,” I say, barely above a whisper. The words just spilled out, but her reaction was wonderful. She didn’t behave as though shocked. She didn’t recoil. Instead her tears increased and she stared into my eyes, giving herself to me. Not all of her, but I swear I could feel her break off for me a tiny piece of her trust, hope, and what I believe could be the beginnings of love.
I know I don’t deserve any of it, but with greed I will take it all. Pulling her into me, we roll onto our sides, my cock still deep inside her.
“I missed you so much,” I say as I breathe her in. I want to remember every scent our bodies make together. “I didn’t tell you I loved you to hear those words back. I said them because I mean them, Vivian. I am in love with you. I want you to know how I feel, always.”
She backs up, gluing her body to mine. “I missed you, too,” she says into the fold of my arm. “I’m kind of like a crackhead, looking for your letters every single day. I’m so happy when I see the lavender envelope,” she continues and kisses my arm. “I don’t know what to say. Something is happening between us.”
“You are destroying them after you read them, right?”
“Yes, but I don’t want to. I want to read them over and over until the papers fall apart.”
“But you understand that it would be too risky. If anyone knew. If it got back to Mason, he could remove me from the guard.”
“No!”
I can hear the panic in her voice and feel her heart race at the thought.
“Yes. Oh Vivian, I want to take you away from here.”
Her head snaps around and she looks into my eyes. “You can’t! I have to finish! I can’t risk my family! Besides, as long as you are with me, I know I will be safe. Right?”
“Right… You are so strong.”
Would she be mine on the outside if we left now?
I know the answer to that question. No. Sure, she would be ever thankful for the support I gave her inside the walls of The Chamber. I believe that she is far less afraid than the other women, and I know that is because of the bond we have between us. But it wouldn’t be enough. Not yet, but if she wanted to leave I would whisk her away into the night, regardless.
“No, I’m not strong. But I have you, and you give me strength.”
Wow. That admission makes my heart sing. But she can’t believe that—it weakens her, and to survive this year she needs all of her inner strength.
I ease out of her and roll her over to face me. “That is not true.” I kiss her hands. “Your strength is one of the things I fell in love with, Vivian. I know it sounds crazy after a few months to say that I love you. You must think I am nuts.”
Thank you so much for tuning in and reading! Read more of The Seven Chambers Series.

The Men of the Seven Chambers Series
A Novella
by D.W. Marshall
I wake in the morning, elated to see Vivian still in my arms. I have to get back to work, so with care I slip out from under her and make to leave. I found a little plastic red heart the other day. Silly, I know—I am now in elementary school. I don’t know, I meant it as something she could have and touch that was given to her by me. I leave it near her pillow and make my way out.
