Book Review – The Erotica Collection by Nikki Sex

As an erotica writer, I try to expose myself to as many types of erotic novels as possible—it can never hurt to learn more! Every once and a while you get a dud, or a book that is so “out there,” it’s not really sexy as much as shocking. These aren’t your grandma’s Harlequin romance paperbacks for sure! I fully understand that erotic stories, or those with a BSDM theme are not for everyone, though Fifty Shades of Grey certainly brought the BSDM lifestyle into mainstream America.

I consider myself lucky to have come upon Nikki Sex’s work. She has a way of mixing Screen Shot 2017-04-13 at 12.29.50 PMBDSM, romance, and lust into very sexy stories. I became a fan of Nikki Sex last year when I read Bound and Freed, the story of dominant “Father” John and submissive Kelly. The Erotica Collection actually contains Bound and Freed along with two other novels, Elizabeth’s Bondage and Carmen’s New York Romance. There are three full-length novels in this collection, but each story is tied together by the teachings of Master André Chevalier, André is a recurring character in several of Nikki’s books. He is a master dominant, with a soft (yet hard) touch, and his students will not only learn about BSDM, but usually a little about themselves in the process.

These are not hardcore bondage stories, if that’s what you’re into. Each has a bit of romance woven in, which I like. I think it makes the stories sexier. And when it comes time for these characters to get busy, boy do they ever! The sex scenes, though graphic, were sizzling hot. I also like that the characters are not traditionally good looking or hard to identify with. The women were not slinky bathing suit models, and the men had flaws as well (physical and mental). Carmen was the one character of color, and admittedly, I would have liked to see more. I guess I’ll just have to see what else Nikki has in her arsenal!

This set is free if you have Kindle Unlimited, but even if you don’t, I highly recommend The Erotica Collection as well as any other work by Nikki Sex. She’s got more than 15 books to choose from, and she writes all manner of erotic novel. Check her out!

America’s Next Top Model

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 11.34.36 AM

(The day of the week keeps changing on me, but I try to watch on Monday). These girls are the cattiest the show has ever had, so much so that I have a hard time watching. They turned the drama up to 11, when level 6 was just fine! The only thing that keeps me going are the photos and transformations, though I am barely holding on.

Supergirl

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 11.36.45 AM.png

I’ve stuck with this program. It’s light and breezy entertainment, and I love girl superheroes.

TimelessScreen Shot 2017-04-09 at 11.40.10 AM.png

What a fun way to learn more about history! Reminds me of Quantum Leap or Back to the Future. A team of heroes must stop a villain from misusing a stolen time machine to alter the past and present. Of course, they have to do all of this without altering history themselves.

Tuesday

The Flash

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 11.45.25 AM.png

This show is one of my favorites! Also, Grant Gustin is extremely easy on the eyes.

This is Us

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 11.49.25 AM.png

This Is Us has received wonderful reviews, and rightfully so! It’s an amazing new show. Watching this has gotten a tear or two out of me on more than one occasion. I highly recommend it.

Wednesday

Arrow

screen-shot-2016-10-09-at-9-42-12-pm

I think we know by now that superheroes are kind of my thing. Who can lose with Stephen Amell? He’s so beautiful.

Thursday

Scandal

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 12.11.56 PM.png

I’m thinking this show may have run its course, but we’ll see. I’ve loved it so long that I have to keep watching. If Olivia and Fitz get back together it will have all been worth it for me!

Friday

Rosewood

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 12.20.34 PM

Don’t watch while you’re eating! This show is about forensics, after all. It helps that Morris is so gorgeous!

Dr. Ken

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 12.22.56 PM.png

I know this show hasn’t gotten very good ratings, but I still love it. I just think Ken Jeong is hilarious!

Shows I’ve dropped

Kevin Can Wait – Sorry I keep waiting for the wife and dad from King of Queens!

How to Get Away with Murder – While I love Shondra and Viola I think I overloaded myself on dramas.

Bull – It was quirky, but I just can’t.

Emerald City – Never got past the first episode.

Shows and movies I’m excited for:

Designated Survivor, Empire, and 24 Legacy. I probably shouldn’t add more to my weekly watching schedule, but I just can’t help it! I will have to make good use of my DVR.

What shows do you love? Make suggestions in the comments below. Maybe I can add just ONE more!

What I’m Reading

A writer has to read. Even though it’s hard to find time, I have to make it a priority. You never know how others in your field will inspire you. I’ve started the following novels. Hope to have a full report soon!

Screen Shot 2017-04-03 at 12.01.45 AM

Feversong by Karen Marie Moning

I’m currently reading the final installment of the Fever series. It is so much fun to catch up with Mac, Barrons, and the rest of the crew as they try and do away with the Sinsar Dubh once and for all. Of course, Mac is its prisoner, and as I have become a loyal fan of Moning’s work, I know a happy ending isn’t promised to us!

The Clan of the Cave Bear: Earth’s Children, Book One by Jean M. Auel

I have never read anything by Auel, but she comes highly recommended by a friend. I just downloaded it and can’t wait to include it in my nightly reading. I will let you know if you should add it to yours.

Have a suggestion! Id’ love to hear it. Please drop me a line anytime!

The Men of the Seven Chambers Series

A Novella

by D.W. Marshall

The carousel pony that bears my name has a large dildo protruding from its back. I watch as she depresses the button and liquid spills out of the opening and oozes down the shaft of the fake cock. I want to give her this real one more than anything I have ever wanted.

Vivian—I mean, Flame—gazes into the camera, right into my eyes, and fucking winks.images 2

“Oh my god.” I pant the words.

In the sexiest gray-eyed smolder I have ever seen, she mouths, “I want you,” then she slides down onto the rubber cock.

Fucking hottest thing I have ever seen. I move the cameras and watch her work it, thankful for the privacy under the desk, designed for this exact moment. I relieve my dick from straining against my pants and rub my hand up and down the shaft. I glance around me. The other guards are watching their Chambermaids without a thought about me. I squeeze my dick in my hand and rub as I watch her grinding, back and forth, moving her hips in delicious circles. This is what she wants to do to me. When she bounces on and off the entire length, I come, moaning as quietly as I can. It takes all I have not to run up those stairs and bury myself deep inside her hotness.

I move the camera up and focus on her beautiful face. She is drunk on pleasuring herself. I know she is imagining that she is with me. When she drags her tongue along her lips and stares deep into my eyes. I almost explode again. Oh, I hope she falls for me in the end. Making love to her would be as good as receiving the keys to heaven. I watch on, panting, wanting, as she bites those sweet pink lips and kneads her sexy-as-sin breasts. I almost die in my seat when her mouth falls open. I watch her shake, shiver and explode around what she wants to be me, shouting my name into the camera. Fuck yes!

Then in the sexiest move I have seen to date, she hangs on to the pole, completely spent and breathless, staring into the camera. I am going to marry this woman.

Book Review – Seat of the Soul

book

I would not call myself a religious person at all, but I do believe in spirituality and my role in it. I may not pick up the Bible, Koran, Tora, or any other holy book to explore my purpose or feed my spirituality. So where do I turn?

Robbins, Osteen, Winfrey, Chopra, and Tolle are all wonderful, powerful, and inspirational people that have helped put me on the path to improving myself. In order to be my best self, I believe I have to get to know myself, and that is always a work in progress.

I am currently reading Seat of the Soul, by Gary Zukov. I am only a few chapters in because as these things go with this type of reading, it requires a much slower pace for greater understanding. I just started the chapter on Karma.

So far, I can say that I recommend this book. The goal of the book is to help people improve themselves. What could be better than consciously being aware of your intentions (the real reasons for your actions)? For me, the only way to improve myself is to know who I am, and since I am always changing, I must always seek out opportunities to learn.

I will keep you updated on my spiritual journey, and if you are in search of anything similar I would say this book is a great start!

The Men of the Seven Chambers Series

A Novella

by D.W. Marshall

The last guy is coming up. I am not a fan of this dude. Foreign in his accent, and his general personality is cold and dispassionate. I don’t fucking want him to touch her. I take a break from the cameras as Zee is hoisting Flame into a suspending swing. When my attention goes back to the camera, I see something that I will have to ask Zee about later. Her mouth around my girl’s nipples, her fingers dipping in and out of Flame, and the moans escaping her lips. It’s the only time my dick gets hard in my pants. I don’t get aroused when she is with these bastards. That has the opposite effect on me—stomach images 2turning, homicidal thoughts go through my head.

When Serge comes in he is silent and creepy, fucking her on that damn swing. He doesn’t stay long. I don’t make eye contact with him when he exits, because him I might actually attack.

I turn my attention from him and back to Flame, needing to make sure she is okay after spending time with his weird ass. She is down from the contraption. This time I listen in to make sure she is okay.

I hear her when she speaks up. “Since the creepy man left so early, do you think I could have some alone time with Dominic?” she asks Zion.

What the hell? Is she asking for permission to call me upstairs? She said my real name. Fuck. My heart is pounding again. I’m going be dead from a heart attack before this year is up.

“Who the hell is Dominic?” Zee asks her. She doesn’t know my real name.

“My magic pony.” Vivian points to the carousel sized pony in the corner of her Chamber that is meant for her to pleasure herself for the lottery winners. “He deserves a strong name,” she says, her face one big smile as she walks over to the pony.

Best moment of my life.

“No problem. You two lovebirds take all the time you need.” Zee snickers and walks out.

“Hey!” Flame yells behind Zee. “Do you know where the cameras are that the guards watch us from?”

“Why?” Her head tilts in question.

“Just curious,” she says with a shrug.

Zee shows her where the cameras are. I watch intently. This show is for me. My dick seriously may tear through my pants.

Book Review: The Alchemist

Rating – Five stars

Everyone has talked about this book, from Madonna, Pharrell, and Oprah, to my mother. “Life-changing” is what I heard.

As a reader, I couldn’t resist. It’s a book and I love books.

From the start I could see that this would be a book I could sink my teeth into. I started out strong, but I kept getting distracted by…everything. The phone, the television, kids, my husband, you name it.

Days went by and I hadn’t gotten past the third chapter of this very short book that I wanted so desperately to read. Then it hit me! Download the audiobook.

I began listening to The Alchemist during my long car rides throughout the city. I feasted on Santiago’s journey for two days until the very end. What did I learn? Was it as life-changing as I’d expected it to be?

For starters, the book was narrated by Jeremy Irons who did an amazing job! They could not have picked a better person. His voice enriched the life of Santiago.

The take away—it didn’t change me, per se. I’m not ready to get off the path I’m already on. However, it did reinvigorate my belief in dreams. Hell, I’ve been a dreamer my whole life. And what do all dreamers know? It’s hard, so hard to stay on the path to your dreams until you realize them.

Just like Santiago, I have been knocked around by life. I have thought many times, Why write? Why not just continue working as an occupational therapist until retirement? Wouldn’t that make life easier?

Santiago also considered ditching his plans to seek his treasure to live out his life as a shepherd or work at a crystal shop until some ripe old age.

How long is too long to stay on the path to your dreams?

I began writing at the age of six. I would have my mom or one of my grandparents cut paper in half for me, and then staple the pages together. Then I would write stories about ants, bugs, and animal adventures in my first grade penmanship. When I turned nine, my mother bought me a thesaurus, a dictionary, and a typewriter. Not dolls or games. What nine year-old gets a typewriter for her birthday?

Best gift, ever!

In middle school I made up wild and ridiculously fun stories with me as the lead. It was a way of escaping my reality during those tough years. In high school, I began writing scripts. I loved script writing so much, I sent scripts in to NBC at the age of sixteen!

When I turned 18 I gave up on my dreams to be “an adult”. I listened to voices that were not my own. After college, I concentrated on marriage and kids. I was happy, but something was missing.

In 2004, my passion came back to me. I started having the best dreams and I began writing them down. In 2005, I completed my first book! Did it become a bestseller? Nope.

By 2007, I was taking a screenwriting class. I was like a teenager again. I took to it with renewed zeal. Without fear I sought representation for my scripts. Sent them to Disney. Did I make a movie? Sell a script? Nope.

Fast-forward to 2017, now thirteen years on this path to achieve my dreams! And I have! Well, parts of it. I have indie-published four books, and a fifth one is on the way. I have a growing fan base! Wonderful ladies write to me or post on my social media pages that they love my series and my writing!! It feels amazing to read, and I always try to respond.

Did I ever quit? Nope.

Why, in the middle of this review did I share my own story with you? Because, I am Santiago. We all are. We are all born with talents and dreams! Every child has a desire and dream of what they want to be. Most of us give dreams up to become “adults”. But why? Why can’t we be that person? After all, childhood is the most raw, honest, innocent, unbiased time of our life! Who better to pick our destinies then our child selves?

“Little D.W.” chose my career—a writer. It has been a source of happiness, escape, creativity, passion, and love for me.

I still have one foot in the rat race. Imagine how crazy I look right now, running in both directions! But I am Santiago, my treasure is so close that I can smell it, feel it, taste it! I am ready to jump out of the rat race with feet and run at full speed toward my dream.

I am Santiago. You are Santiago! Do yourself a favor and pick up this book, it’s short and sweet, yet packed with power. You may be a dreamer now or may have been a dreamer once upon a time. Whichever it is, if you are still in the rat race running toward nowhere, I recommend this book to get you back on track. Your treasure, whatever it is for you, is out there waiting for you to go after it!

The Men of the Seven Chambers Series

A Novella

by D.W. Marshall

I turn the volume up and watch it all unfold. The polite exchange, a more formal meeting. Then his hands on her, them on the bed.

Fuck me. I don’t know if I can do this. What kind of animal am I?

This is worse than anything I have ever experienced but I don’t look away. If she has to endure this pain, then so must I. My hands are in tight fists as I suffer this sight. When the images 2asshole exits her Chamber I want to tackle him to the ground and wipe the smug satisfied grin from his face.

I refrain, my attention instead on those cameras. I need to know how my girl is doing. The second I see that she is freaking out I tear ass up those stairs.

I don’t announce myself immediately. I can’t. Watching her there broken, crying, shoulders rising and falling while Zee attempts to comfort her—I have no words. My chest is tight, threatening to squeeze my heart until it bursts.

What the fuck have I done?

I have to keep my shit together because this feed is also in Mason’s possession. I clear my throat to announce myself. Both of their heads snap up in my direction. We don’t say anything, only lock eyes. The pain behind Flame’s will haunt me forever. Still, I don’t break contact. I owe it to her to be there for her. She takes what I am giving her.

“Is everything okay in here?” I ask, my heart hammering in my chest. My physiology telling me it is time to grab her and run. I don’t know if I can sit and watch her suffer through this. “Are you harmed?” I keep it tight and professional, hoping that she can see the tenderness in my eyes.

“No, Tyson. I wasn’t harmed—physically. This is just much harder than I expected. I’m much better now.” Now that I see you, her eyes tell me. “Thank you for checking on me.”

I want to say more, but I don’t. I want to tell her that we are leaving, but I know she would not leave with me. For one thing, I don’t think I have completely earned her trust.

“I’m right downstairs,” I say, my eyes never leaving hers. What I am really saying is that I am suffering with you and I will take you away from here. Just say the word.

She nods what I think is understanding at the thoughts hidden behind my words and her face splits into the briefest smile. She gets me loud and clear.

“I think she’s good, Tyson. Thanks for checking on her.”

“Never a problem. I’m always right downstairs.”

“Thanks, Tyson. I’m okay now.”

I think she means that she is okay because of me. I hope that is what she means.

I nod a final time and head back downstairs.

The Men of the Seven Chambers Series

A Novella

by D.W. Marshall

I suffered through the welcoming party which made me sick inside. Her sprawled out on display for the men to feast upon. Instead of watching the horror show take place, I focused on my reactions, because anything out of the ordinary would find me off her detail. On the outside, I was calm, composed, observant. Contrary to the inside, I was melting into a pain puddle in the bottoms of my shoes. My only desire to run to her, unstrap her and get her the fuck out of here.

We both survived, though she survived at greater cost. Tonight is the girls first night in their Chambers, and a list of seven men are assigned to spend time with her. Fuck! I don’t images 2know how she will survive. This experience is so new to me because in past Chamber’s I’d met the girls and the men, but I never participated in any of the events so I was always very detached. Not this time, this time I am hard wired into the inner working like a vein or artery in the body.

I am already working at the computer station at the foot of her Chamber, a security door is all that is separating the staircase that leads to her. It is at this station that I will watch it all go down. There are cameras in the ensuite bathroom, and the entire room, there is not one spot in her Chamber that can hide from the camera. This is sick and intelligent of Mason. I mean on the sick hand the guards get to watch these young women fuck all night, not something I want to do. However, if a lottery winner gets out of hand we can get upstairs and stop it. I ease my ear buds in so that I get the fucking great pleasure of listening to what my eyes are seeing.

Flame is in the bathroom getting fixed up for tonight. Awful, if she were with me I would take her as is, in her most beautiful natural state. I don’t listen in on their conversation because I trust Zee. Anything that was said of value she will make sure to relay back to me. Instead, the camera is on her face, calmer now. Beautiful, innocent.

It is time. The first man for the evening regards me as he stands at the bookcase. I gaze around the room and the same is happening at each of the seven bookcases, seven men, standing and waiting for the green lights, dicks all aching with anticipation, and I want to crush them all, especially the one panting in front of Flame’s Chamber entrance. His eyes take in my monitor and see the crimson room at all different angles, he glances in my direction, his understanding is clear, yes I will be watching you, fucker.

The case slides open and he takes the stairs disappearing into the night. I throw up in my mouth.

Fifty Shades of Bummed

Tags

, , , , ,

I read Fifty Shades of Grey back in the day like everyone else and loved it! Back then, I was a Twilight fan who was looking for something darker. When I heard they were coming out with a movie in ’15 I was ecstatic to see it all play out on the big screen. Unfortunately, the movie wasn’t that wonderful, but I wasn’t upset. I had already drank the Kool-aid, and I was invested. I couldn’t wait to see Fifty Shades Darker. I’ve been eating up every trailer for the last two months! February 11, 2017 couldn’t come soon enough!

Last week,  I reclined my seat back with my best friend in tow. This was just the preliminary viewing, mind you. I already had a second screen-shot-2017-02-12-at-10-36-39-amdate to see the movie with my sister-in-law and niece scheduled.

Did I mention I am a super fan? I re-read the series in January in preparation for Darker. So, two viewings of this movie is definitely warranted to get the full effect. But now I have a small problem. I could barely get through the first viewing!

It isn’t the acting, the actors were good and believable (it doesn’t hurt that Christian is much hotter this go around). My biggest problem is how the story is delivered; the transition from page to screen. Exposition overload!!! The dialogue sounded like they were reciting from pages from the book. And believe me when I say spilling fact after fact doesn’t move the story, it hurts it!

Perhaps my issue is that I know the book too well. I mean, when Ana is writing on his skin and asks if the scars are burns, all I could think was...wasn’t that established in the first movie?

As a reader, I will likely always have this problem when a book I love goes to film. I wanted this movie to be good, better than the last one. I wanted to love it, because I love the characters from the book. But to say I was very disappointed is, in fact, the understatement of 2017.

Sadly, I will have to cancel my second viewing plans.
